But I peeled back the layers, so to speak, and I discovered that program built around it is completely unnecessary. All I had to do was call the 1-800 number and ask for a cancellation, the person on the other end of the phone was prompt and polite and didn’t push any sales on me… overall, a pleasant, easy, less than a minute, free phone call, which was followed up instantly by a very courteous email confirming my cancellation.

Update (8-26-03): I received the ceramic coated skillet today… it came with a multifunction scissors. I paid only $9.99 shipping and handling for $79 worth of product that I have replaced my old raw metal pan with. This new ceramic technology is truly non-stick awesomeness!
