Kizlyar Supreme’s MOLLE Survival Kit SMP1

October 22, 2015 by Troy Boylan Leave a Comment

A while back, I reviewed a high quality hollow handled survival knife… Kizlyar Supreme’s Survivalist X. In the video accompanying the article, I went into some depth concerning the MOLLE panel on the front of its sheath, which I added a 50′ hank of paracord to.

I have since replaced the paracord with Kizlyar Supreme’s MOLLE Survival Kit SMP1… it attaches to a belt or anything MOLLE-compatible.

Kizlyar Supreme’s MOLLE Survival Kit SMP1 includes the following items that fit in a ballistic nylon pouch:

  • Tin box…
    • Its surface is reflective enough to be used for signaling, can be used to melt snow, boil water, make charcloth, etc.
  • (2) Surgical razor blades…
    • one is a straight narrow edge coming to a point, and the other is a wider edge with a rounded blade.
  • Ferrocerium rod and striker…
  • Cotton wool…
    • can be used in a medical gauze capacity, as tinder for fire starting, etc.
  • Pill fob…
    • Waterproof O-ring sealed.
  • Emergency water purification pills…
    • 4 pieces of chlorine in a small ziplock type bag inside the pill fob; use 1 piece for each 1 litre of water, shake 1 minute, wait 5 minutes, shake again before drinking.
  • Compass…
  • Whistle…
  • Wire saw…
    • has finger rings and swivels
  • Brass wire…
    • 1 meter (3 feet), can be used to catch small birds, to tie things together, etc.
  • Magnifying glass…
    • was not included in the kit I received from the distributor who sent me a previously opened kit for the purposes of this review.
  • (2) Bandages…
    • small cloth adhesive bandages with stick completely around absorbent pad.
  • (2) Alcohol pads…
    • 70% isopropyl acohol; can be used to disinfect around wounds, to clean, as immediate fire starting tinder, etc.
  • Wound pad…
    • 5×5 cm (2″ x 2″); can be used as medical gauze, as tinder for firestarting, etc.
  • Condom…
    • I don’t know why this is lubricated… but if it were non-lubricated, it could be used as a water container.
  • Fishing kit…
    • Hooks: 3# (for 0.1kg-1kg fish), 8# (1kg-5kg), 11# (over 10kg)… Line (4 meters)… and sinkers (split lead shot).
  • (5) Safety Pins…
    • can be used to fix clothes, as trap triggers, fish hooks, etc.
  • Candle…
    • small paraffin, in metal cup.
  • Matches and striker…
    • (8) waterproof matches and match striker; the matches are enclosed separately from the striker to avoid accidental fire.
  • Sewing kit…
    • (3) sewing needles with different sized thread holes, and 5 meter thread.
  • 11 in 1 multifunction credit card tool in a pouch…
    • can opener, knife edge, phillips screwdriver, ruler, bottle cap opener, 4 position wrench, butterfly wrench, saw edge, direction ancillary indicator, 2 position wrench, key ring or lanyard hole.

Having a small survival kit, such as… but not necessarily… Kizlyar Supreme’s MOLLE Survival Kit SMP1 attached to the sheath of your survival knife or backpack is a smart idea!

What kinds of small survival kit do you keep on your knife sheath?

Why The Background Is Not White

White light is full spectrum, meaning it contains equal amounts of the highest intensity red, green, and blue light. Blue light is short wave frequency, and is thus potentially damaging to eyes and overall well-being. Thus, EV’s content background color is an eye friendly cream color low in red and green light, but even lower in blue light. Be additionally protected from the blue light emitted from your e-device by wearing computer glasses.
